The best way I have found to use a shaving soap stick is,

• Wet your face warm water after the shower is best.
• Rub the stick directly onto your stubble leaving a thin layer of soap.
• Wet your shaving brush as normal and work the brush directly on the face and watch the lather grow. Keep adding a little water if need to the brush and keep lathering. Stop when you are satisfied and shave.
• Need a second pass no problem just use the remaining soap that is on the brush should be plenty and apply again.
